How It’s Used: Known to combat bacteria, such as E. Coli and Salmonella. It is known to boost one’s immunity. It is also known to kill a variety of viruses that resist most types of drugs. Active against fighting tumors. Good anti-inflammatory agent that helps with arthritis, joint pain, sciatica, and other inflammatory diseases and symptoms.

Harvesting: This fungus is incredibly rare. Therefore we do not recommend any form of wild harvesting. This fungus can be cultivated at home for use.

Plant Description

 

These mushrooms are one of the longest living mushrooms found on our planet. They can live between 70 to 100 years old and have incredible health benefits, aiding in the fight against cancer, tuberculosis, and many other diseases. Incredibly rare due to deforestation, it’s genetic code can be cultivated and even made at home. The use of this mushroom dates back to over 2000 years ago. It’s health benefits can be found discussed in earlier Greek text. This mushroom is referred to as the mushroom that provides long life. Nearly extinct in Europe and Asia, very rare in China, the last zones it can be heavily found in is Washington state, California, Oregon, and Canada, Poland, Italy, and Austria. It grows on Douglas Fir Trees, Hemlock, Spruce Trees, and Larch trees. It prefers damp wet forest settings.

This mushroom can grow enormous, as large as a 5-gallon bucket. It’s layered with multiple stripes of white and brown colors and is shaped similarly to a beehive. They are slow growing in the wild, so we want to emphasize avoiding the wild harvesting of these mushrooms. Agarikon contains agaric acid which as a powerful anti-inflammatory. It also contains beta-D-glucan and polysaccharides.

The taste of the Agarikon mushroom in its raw form can be at first sweet, but quickly turns bitter. Similar to the taste of American Ginseng. It can be found in capsule form on sites like Amazon or can be cultivated at home. Although there are no known side-effects, we recommend doing thorough research prior to taking any dosage. Large doses may lead to diarrhea. Common warnings are for pregnant or nursing women and small children to avoid this herb.
